What do Optimus Prime and a basket of apples have in common? ~{Miami Child Photographer}~

The answer: Both are likely to make a 4-year old boy smile!

Since my only nephew is in high-school, I don’t get much “little boy” time between my two daughters and four nieces. So when I get the chance to photograph little boys, I just love it! It requires me to brush up on my “boy talk” – and that is where Optimus Prime, leader of the Transformers, comes in. Thank goodness that I have three brothers who left me well-versed in “Transformer-ese,” because my knowledge of Decepticon vs. Autobot never came in more handy than at this shoot! Add in the fun of gathering apples in the grass and, well, let’s just say it was a great session.

This is the deep look of concentration you get when you ask a little boy to think about whether his favorite Transformer, “Bumblebee,” could ever shrink himself down small-enough to fit into my camera… (The answer was “no,” by the way – in case you were wondering.)

This kid could win some sort of apple-stacking speed race. I’d scatter the apples in the grass, and, before I could takeĀ five steps back to press the shutter button, he’d have them all neatly stacked on top of the basket! Note to self – bring 5 times more apples to the next shoot.

Love this face – kiddo was so much fun!

This cutie’s stepmom arranged our shoot as a gift for her husband’s birthday. Yes, another client who pulled-off a birthday surprise – just like in my last blog post! Dad got some amazing prints of his son – including a large wall print of the black & white image you saw way up there at the top. And I have to say, it’s probably my favorite black & white photo I’ve ever printed. When it arrived, I didn’t want to let it go! Dad felt the same way, and was overjoyed when his wife surprised him with it and other gorgeous shots from the day. Sharing in that kind of happiness is what makes my job so incredible – I’m always grateful to my clients who chose me to be a part of it.

So there you have it, readers – Optimus Prime and apple baskets have a lot in common when it comes to little boys. Who knew?!
